The iPad As a Laptop Replacement

The Apple iPad has been getting many great reviews and many of us want one to replace a bulky laptop. The questions many readers ask is if it will do everything a netbook or a laptop will do. The answer is it will do most things a regular computer will do. The difference is that as a touch screen device you will have to get things done a little different. With the touch screen keyboard it can be a little difficult to write long documents. You might need to buy the optional keyboard with dock if you plan on doing a lot of writing on the iPad. As for most daily task like email and web surfing the iPad does a great job and lightens your load when you are traveling. The amount of apps for the iPhone that run on the iPad make almost any task a breeze. You will find just about any program you need to get a task completed. It’s true that there are a few things like opening zip files or flash based programs will not work, but overall that’s just a little bump. The iPad does make a great replacement to a laptop and most users will be able to do almost anything they want with this device. If you are planning to buy an iPad you might want to get one with the 3g card built in. When you travel it’s nice to be able to get 3g access if you are not near a Wi-Fi spot. The data plans are a little expensive, but depending on your usage can be a life saver to get your work online. Would I recommend the iPad as a replacement for a regular laptop or netbook, yes it can easily do everything you need. There will be a few occasions when you will need a full featured computer, but for everyday business tasks the iPad can adapt and get things done as easily as any other computer device.
